    Cook- Camp Casey, Korea

     

    USO Korea has an immediate vacancy for a part-time cook at its Camp Casey Center,Korea. The incumbent will assist the Canteen Manager/Supervisor in menu selection and preparation and servicing of food according to the menu and other general canteen duties.

    Duties and key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to performing all preparation work as well as cooking and serving food throughout the daily operating hours of the canteen. Ensuring proper preparation, portion control, and presentation of meals served. Average meals served per day 60 to 70.

    The ideal candidate will be a team player who can adjust easily to a variety of situations throughout the workday based on customer load. Candidate must have good customer services skills and keep the needs of the customer in mind. Candidate must have knowledge of various recipes; a good knowledge of host country food preparation and recipes would also beneficial. A minimum of 1-2 years experience in food and beverage preparation; ability to lift merchandise/boxes, usually weighing up to 70 lbs.; current food handler certificate and medical release as required by law; ability to stand for extended periods of time, work in hot and humid conditions in the kitchen.

    Programs Manager- Seoul, Korea

     

    USO, a mission-driven organization is actively recruiting for a full-time Programs Manager for its Center located at Camp Kim, Seoul, Korea to manage and deliver planned programs, events and activities throughout Area I, II, III, and IV.

    Duties and key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to budgeting; manpower; advertising; media relations; development; and coordination of country-wide program activities. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. College degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or closely related field desired. Candidate must possess experience in events and meetings management, sales and marketing or similar functions. Previous military experience a plus.

    Information Specialist - Frankfurt, Germany

     

    USO, an non- profit organization serving military members and their families, has an immediate vacancy for an information Specialist position for the USO Center located at the Frankfurt International Airport, Frankfurt, Germany. This position is part-time (20 hours per week).

    Key responsibilities: Ensure adequate up-to-date information is maintained in files and throughout the office and on shelves for customers; maintain logs and records as required on items including but not limited to telephones; fax machines; computers and copiers; ensure coffee; refreshments and snack supplies are available; keep office area clean and orderly at all times with current posters; seasonal bulletin boards and flyer displays; cultivate a personal knowledge of travel within Germany, Europe and the local area and prepare daily paperwork to be submitted to administration. This position may require working on some weekends.

    Requirements: Applicants for this position should be organized; possess good people skills; have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. German language skills are a plus.

    Center Manager- CASF, Raimstein Germany

     

    USO, a non-profit organization serving military members and their families, is actively recruiting for the position of Center Manager for our USO lounge located within the 435th Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF) on Ramstein Air Base in Kaiserslautern, Germany. This position is part-time 24 hours per week, no relocation assistance available.

    Key responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operation of the USO Center and supervise two employees and over 20 volunteers. Operate and control the lounge, atrium, and storage area. Initiate and manage programs to include Bar-B-Qs, pizza parties, and movie nights. Maintain internet and telephone stations and all gaming assets. Ensure overall cleanliness of the center. Generate monthly reports on programs, visits, patient numbers, and the United Through Reading Program. Maintain all financial facets and accountability of all assets. Obtain and maintain required levels of supplies. Direct and manage the center's volunteer program. Represent the USO and host distinguished visitors and celebrity entertainers.

    Minimum requirements: previous related experience to include customer service and supervising employees/volunteers; experience in military environment, knowledge of military community and protocol preferred; computer literacy essential – Word, Excel, internet; strong communication and public speaking skills; ability to work on weekends and late evenings as needed.

    Programs & Marketing Director- Yokosuka, Japan

     

    USO Yokosuka Japan has an immediate vacancy for a Director for Programs and Marketing. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation and monitoring of all program and marketing activities for USO Japan; including development and coordination of country wide and center based outreach and program activities, commercial sponsorship, fundraising, advertising, media relations, grant writing, and special events. The incumbent in this position reports to the Country Director, USO Japan. Applicants must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and a strong team player. In addition to a four-year university degree, qualified applicants must possess the following skills:

    Requirements:
    - Degree in marketing, public relations or communications preferred or four years experience at a professional level in marketing, public relations, communications or closely related field with progressively increasing levels of responsibility. Supervisory experience an advantage.
    -An understanding of service members’ and family members’ needs and a familiarity with the military and government markets is a distinct advantage.
    - Previous non-profit experience including directing and motivating volunteers is a plus.
    - Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office and graphic software.
    - Strong financial and budgetary skills
    - Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Japanese is a distinct advantage.
    - Be able to obtain SOFA status.

    Programs Coordinator- Camp Humphreys, Korea

    Duty Manager - Southwest Asia (Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar)

    Key Responsibilities: The Duty Manager will assist the Center Manager in delivering and providing core programs within the Center.     Driver - Camp Kim, Korea

     

    USO Korea is actively recruiting for a part-time Driver to supplement and support the duties and responsibilities of the USO Korea Programs Manager by assisting with the planning and execution of programs to support U.S. Service Members and their families throughout the Republic of Korea.

    Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to driving tour buses and other USO vehicles for assigned tours and general business related transportation; regular, basic maintenance to include oil and tire changes, and yearly vehicle inspection on tour bus, minivans, and sedans; perform operator level maintenance on all USO vehicles, both preventative and corrective; assist ITT Manager with vehicle maintenance estimates and submit all necessary documents upon completion of said maintenance; keeps USO vehicle licenses and base passes current; coordinates with USO ITT Specialists to run tours on time and in a save and enjoyable manner for customers; and drives USO Staff for business-related activities as required.

    Requirements: The ideal candidate must be:
    - Able to communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, in Korean (English language skills are a plus)
    - Able to obtain and maintain a valid SOFA driver’s license to operate 45-passenger bus, sedans, and vans 912-passenger and smaller) within 30 days of employment
    - Available to work weekends, US and Korean holidays

    Director of Operations - Kuwait, SWA

     

    The USO, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting our active U.S. military personnel and their families since 1941, is actively seeking a Director of Operations to plan, organize, and direct USO operations within our Southwest Asia centers, provide quality programs and services, and coordinate interactions between the centers, and between the region and WHQ. Act as a liaison with Operations activities at WHQ and globally. This position will be based in Kuwait.

    Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to routinely and regularly visit all the centers in the region, planning and execution of USO programs and activities of USO centers in Southwest Asia; provide close contact and support to the centers staff, resolve any challenges and ensure smooth operations, quality program and service delivery; evaluate program services using USO Standards of Excellence; conduct periodic reviews of service member and family needs to make realistic assessment for the long term as well as ongoing revision, expansion, or introductions or programs and services; conduct supporting personnel activities; develop financial resources through budget planning, grant/local support; in coordination with the Center Director/Manager, Development Director, and Administration develop new programs and/or services that create sponsorship opportunities for various corporations, foundations and the local American community.

    Requirements:
    - A Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business
    - Three to five years project management and supervisory experience
    - Strong communication skills including writing and public speaking.
    - Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating programs, services and special events
    - Knowledge of the military and their needs desirable
    - Ability to live, work and travel in a difficult overseas environment

    Key Responsibilities: Help develop, plan & execute all fundraising activities, sponsorship, special events, and community relations activities for USO Korea; assist in the solicitation, research, and identification of prospective donors and sponsors; develop advertisements/marketing strategies for the promotion of the organization’s programs and services. The incumbent supervises one employee.

    Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related, or equivalent job experience; understanding of basic financial concepts and strong computer skills required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and graphics programs; must be fluent and possess the ability to read, write, and speak professionally in both English and Korean.
